Book launch: Art and Its Worlds(Afterall) x Inside-Out Practice (IOAM, Beijing)
An online event to celebrate the publication of our latest Exhibition Histories anthology, Art and its Worlds: Exhibitions, Institutions and Art Becoming Public. Organised in collaboration with Inside-Out Art Museum, this event introduces the publication in the context of the current exhibition ‘Afterall Exhibition Histories and its Worlds’ (16 October 2021–27 February 2022). The display is the ninth episode of Inside-Out Practice focussing on the practice of art publishing.

The event will include introductions with Carol Yinghua Lu, director of Inside-Out Art Museum; a tour of the exhibition with curators Huang Wenlong and Scarly Zhou; a screening by Ese Otubu; and discussion and Q&A with the anthology’s editors Charles Esche, David Morris, Lucy Steeds and Bo Choy. The event will take place on Zoom in English with simultaneous interpretation in Chinese, and is presented as part of the Afterall Art School programme.
Art and its Worlds is published by Afterall in partnership with Asia Art Archive, based in Hong Kong; the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, New York; and the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, University of Gothenburg.
