Submit your work

We are open to pitches from writers. On this page, we’ve listed all the projects that you can submit work your work and what we require from you. Due to the high amount of submissions we receive, unfortunately, we are unable to respond to every submission or provide feedback. If you have not heard back from us within 3 months, please consider your submission unsuccessful.

Afterall Journal

Published twice a year, each issue of Afterall journal includes in-depth considerations of the work of contemporary artists, as well as essays on art history and critical theory.

Journal articles are around 2,000 – 4,000 words.

We require an abstract with 1,500 character limit of your proposed article, three images as examples to accompany the article, and your CV.

One Work

Published twice a year, each One Work title focuses on a single artwork that has significantly shaped the way we understand art and its history.

We are not taking submissions at this time as we are fully commissioned until 2025.
