Visit Central Saint Martins this March to see Richard Hamilton’s contribution to Channel 4’s series ‘TV Sculpture’ originally broadcast in 1997.

Asked to create a work of art for television, Hamilton re-edited a film he had made forty years earlier but never shown before – adding colour and a soundtrack. The original film was footage the artist had shot of ‘an Exhibit’, an exhibition and artwork he made in collaboration with Victor Pasmore and Lawrence Alloway in 1957, and the subject of an upcoming title in our Exhibition Histories series of books.

Hamilton’s ‘TV Sculpture’ is being screened on a monitor as part of Strangelove – a Central Saint Martins wide moving image festival using spaces throughout the Kings Cross campus.
